Boomers Need a Boom Shift

OK, you got up this morning, took a nice shower, dried your hair, brushed your teeth, et cetera, et cetera. No problem. Right? Good. Then you got dressed (well, some people do things in that order anyway). You put on your shirt, pulled up your pants, or put on a dress...whatever. Still going great, huh? Then what happened? You had to put on your shoes and socks, didn't you?

You bent over to slip your shoes and socks on, and it was just a bit harder to do than last week. And the bad thing about that is last week was just a bit harder than the week before. Still, maybe you could shrug it off to not having breakfast yet. Maybe you weren't completely awake. Or your thoughts are already on the unfinished paperwork waiting for you at the office. Hey; distractions happen, and you're not really on your game so early in the morning.

Yet...there may be a hint in that last sentence. You know what? You're probably not on your game in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Trouble is; you're really never on your game anymore. Are you? "How can I be?"you ask. "I've got obligations, kids (or grandkids), long hours at work, extra club get-togethers, and more."

OK, I give in. You win. You can't do it. It's too much to overcome. After all...if you had those 36 hour days that rich people do, then you could get back in shape. If only you could pay somebody the "big bucks" to bust your big b-u-t-t. Then you'd get back in shape. If only...ah who are we kidding? That ain't gonna happen. So you're doomed. It's too hard. It's too time-consuming. You're too late in life.

A little "magic" dust please. (sprinkle, sprinkle) You're just looking at this from the wrong angle. You've convinced yourself that you're too old to be in "the game". You can't teach an old dog new tricks, right? Well, guess what... You're a human. You're not an old dog, and sure; you're not a spring chicken, but you still have your wonderful brain. And you know what that wonderful brain can do for you? It can help you overcome what your body is yelling at you. After all; it's really the brain controlling everything anyway. So get your brain on your team.

Start simply by saying to yourself...say this with me now...self (are you saying it?) self, listen to me now. You are a marvelously made creature, and you're going to start doing things differently. You're going to start obeying me instead of the other way around. Self, you're going to love me for this. Just wait till you see me/you after a while. We're going to work together to gain back the self-control and self-confidence we used to have. And then we're gonna eat sensibly and move around more. Yeah...that's it. You know...when you put it like that, it doesn't sound hard at all. We're gonna eat sensibly and move around more. We're gonna shift gears, turn off the TV, walk to the store, breathe in the outside air, soak in the beautiful sunshine, drink lots of water, and live.

Now...put on your walking shoes (don't worry, it won't hurt forever) and quit reading this and get started. You can even stretch yourself as you tie up the laces. You can boom shift, boomer. Go!

Popular Non-Surgical Skin Care Options

Skin care is about a lot more than a basic, monthly facial - the mega industry encompasses a full range of non-surgical skin care treatments like chemical facial peels, Botox treatments, microdermabrasion and laser skin rejuvenation procedures.

For more information on each of these hot five skin care trends, keep reading for a brief overview of each method.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation - Let the Light Shine

Also known as laser skin rejuvenation, this treatment uses laser light therapy to penetrate the skin, remove dead cells, improve skin tone, reduce hyper pigmentation and reduce the appearance of fine lines or scars.

Because laser skin resurfacing only takes a few minutes, it's a very popular skin care procedure. The actual treatment can be painful, so most patients receive a local anesthetic and expect a recovery time of between 1 and 10 days.

Microdermabrasion: Revealing a New You

Microdermabrasion can be done at home or by a skin care practitioner. However, most clients find clinical results to be significantly more effective and dramatic than those produced by at-home, do-it-yourself kits.

During your microdermabrasion treatment, the practitioner will apply a handheld device to your skin. You'll feel a slight abrasion against your skin as well as a fine spray. This treatment is designed to break up your skin's dead cells and reveal younger, brighter, fresher-looking skin.

After your microdermabrasion treatment, your skin may feel sensitive or appear red for about an hour. You should consequently avoid the sun or any topical creams that include ingredients like Retinol or AHA.

Botox Treatment for Your Appearance

Botox falls into the skin care category thanks to its ability to prevent wrinkles through prolonged use. By far, Botox is the most popular skin care method, and this common drug works by essentially paralyzing the treated muscles. In turn, these muscles no longer contract, therefore slowing the wrinkling process and preventing habit or facial expression wrinkles from forming.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are an effective way to reverse the effects of sun damage, minimize the appearance of scars and effectively diminish skin discoloration. Treatments can be somewhat painful, though brief, but the results are effective and last a long time.

A chemical facial must be done by a specially licensed esthetician, plastic surgeon, dermatologist, or registered nurse. If the procedure requires a general or local anesthesia, a supervising doctor is required to be present, and the procedure must be done in a licensed facility.

Locating a Skin Care Professional

If you're trying to locate a skin care professional, try the Pacific Dermatologist Association. This nonprofit, coastal organization maintains a full database of licensed members, along with a list of their specialities and contact information.

How To Choose A Safe And Efficient Credit Card Service

When you begin searching for a credit card service, there is much more to it than finding a reasonably priced service. While price is an important factor that should be considered, there are many other facets that separate a quality credit card service from a mediocre service. Features that should be considered include the customer service, their level of support, what they offer, and how safe the service truly is.

The first feature we will talk about is the customer service provided. Problems in credit card processing can and will occur. This becomes a strenuous time because it is not only affecting you, but also your entire downline. You want to make sure that the credit card service you select is there for you and is available to handle your needs.

Research is vital to determine how reliable the customer service is from your credit card service. Prior to joining, ask for customer referrals from current clients to get the truth. Don't be afraid to ask how quickly their calls are answered on average, and how long it takes to fix the problem. These are things that could affect you and your business in the future.

Along with customer service, make sure to research how well the customer support is. If you have a problem and your credit card service doesn't reply for a couple days, you will lose valuable business within that time. Check to see if the service offers staffed phones 24/7, and how reliable they are to meet your needs.

Another thing to consider is whether or not your credit card transaction service can offer secure ordering through SSL. SSL stands for secure sockets layer and is a widely-used web standard for security. If you already have a secure site then this is not a big deal for you. However, if you don't it is crucial that your service offers this because it is expensive and a pain in the butt to set it up yourself.

The last thing to consider when selecting an efficient credit card service is the legitimacy of the credit card service. Sadly, there are many con artists and scammers all over the internet trying to rip people off, which makes it all the more important that you know what you're getting into prior to agreeing to anything. The best ways to check the legitimacy is to contact the Better Business Bureau to check the company's status, and get a phone number and physical address if you find the service online.

Selecting a credit card service is crucial because this is what all your transactions for your business are going to go through. As long as you take your time and research in-depth before you commit to anything, you should have no problem selecting an efficient and trustworthy credit card transaction service.
