One day so many years ago
a little boy was sent,
nurtured in his mother's womb
a love that would not end.
We soon realized that he was
a special boy indeed.
And we would need the grace of Him
who had sown this special seed. We nurtured him and prayed for grace
as many years went by;
yes, he was a special boy and
sometimes it made us sigh. But we knew that he was one
sent from the realms above,
to rid us from ourselves
and fill our hearts with love. We nurtured and cared for him,
our special boy indeed.
God's grace was sufficient*
as his needs we tried to meet. "I Never Promised you a Rose Garden,"
is a song that we've heard sung.
It is true that life wouldn't be that way
but with it heartache would come. "I didn't promise I would take
all of your grief away.
I required that of you
to walk through the water-way. As you sometimes tumbled and fell,
I lifted you up and held
you lovingly in my arms,
reminding you that I felt the sorrow you were going through
and the love that mingled in.
Remember that I gave my Son
to rid the world from sin."* "But it hurt my heart even though
I knew His purpose then.
But it took you longer and even now
you question why and when that your rose garden turned to dust
along the years you trod.
But, soon you learned that I am not
a God to be put in a box. I am Almighty God
My name is El Shaddai.*
Mighty is an attribute
to you I did supply. So now Derrick's work is done;
he has entered through the door.
He was known before, then and after
and his spirit WOW, did it soar! There were those who were waiting
at the doorway of heaven's gates,
welcoming him into the place which shows
the matchlessness of God's grace."* Jesus carried Derrick
right into the throne of grace.
"Run," he said, "you are complete
no more infirmities in this race!"* The race of all eternity
our God had planned for all
of us who have been redeemed,
and His "little ones" who were called. In ages past He had a plan
only a few can be a part.
A special child in their life
to give themselves a start to see the heart of God
Who was in you to form,
and grow by leaps and bounds
deposited to conform you in the very image
of Jesus and He says
"Derrick came to live within your home
and now I will do the rest." He is waiting for your coming,
he is running all throughout
eternities past, present and future
for "they are all one* he shouts!
"So when you felt overwhelmed
and I seemed so far away,*
you were daily looking at My grace
as you looked into Derrick's sweet face. You will meet him, and Me, at heaven's door
where that great cloud of witnesses convene.*
So now you curl up in My lap and see
that "I Am"* will redeem all the broken plans
that was in your hearts;
don't despair, I understand
and in this plan I played a part. I am the Great Jehovah*
don't put me in a box.
I am too large to fit inside
as your journey took a rock! But now grab onto
the Peace I have for you.
I am to you Jehovah-Shalom*
I am your Comforter for sure. Love,
